Who else is so excited to break out all their boots for fall? Literally, I had to wear mine as soon as we got a taste of cooler weather and this smock embroidery dress from Chicwish looked so cute with the boots. Lately I’ve been opting for more flat shoes and boots (or at least lower stacked heels) that have a streamlined cut so that my outfits will look a bit more “dressy” when I don’t feel like wearing heels. These boots achieve that with a chic look and they are so comfortable and easy to walk in.
I think my favorite part about this embroidery dress is it’s surprising versatility. It could be worn as a tunic that would be so cute over jeans and a pair of booties for a dressed down look. I’d totally pair it with a high heel though in that case with to elongate the legs. Once it’s a bit cooler, a white button up underneath the dress with the sleeves rolled up would be a great layered option. Keep in mind that when worn as a dress, this embroidery number looks better with flats. It’s a smock cut that is shorter in the front and longer in the back and tends to ride up a little, so a flat shoe lends itself better to this cut.
A quick tip on bags: Typically I like to carry smaller pieces with the option of storing them in my larger bags. This summer I used a straw crossbody in that way so much that I knew I needed a version for fall. So when I spotted this black wallet crossbody bag from JEMMA I knew it was the perfect choice.
I just toss it in my larger tote bags when I’m using one, and pull it out to carry on it’s own when I need something smaller. It’s so convenient to use because I don’t have to pack/unpack when I’m switching my bags! Find it here
