Over the weekend my husband and I got to take a quick trip to NYC (more on that later) and I wore this outfit out for Sunday brunch and a little shopping, plus a lot of window shopping, on the Upper East Side. I thought it’d make for a great dressy/casual New Years Eve look too, especially since the last few years our New Years have called for more kid-friendly outings, swapping evening parties for daytime activities. Really, you haven’t lived until you’ve done a “Noon Year’s Eve” party, right?
Sticking with classic pieces that are sleek but still totally wearable for daytime (and into the evening if you’re lucky enough to have a babysitter!), like this streamlined black open ponte jacket (a go-to) from Lilla P and topped with the perfect cape coat from Chicwish for when your activities take you outdoors. Flat boots are swapped for heels, and a blotted red lip which is just bold enough to give that extra bit of pop, but just right for day to evening while not being too much.
