Since my son’s first Christmas, it’s sort of become a tradition to get pictures of him (and myself) in our room decorated for Christmas. The first year I strung lights along the headboard of our bed. Trying my hardest by myself to keep a 9 month old still, I managed to snap a few decent pictures. Last year we took pictures in matching plaid pj’s for a blog post just like this one (you can see that post here). Now this year we are carrying on the tradition today with these Christmas morning pj’s, making memories with these pictures. I have a feeling this is one of those annual traditions that may stick around for awhile.
Another new tradition that’s become a favorite of mine is sharing how my friends style their Christmas outfits for different occasions on their blogs. You can see 3 more gorgeous looks at the bottom of this post!
Lately I’ve been loving winter whites with lots of texture. I picked up my outfit from Aerie, they always have the best Holiday sales and it’s become my own little tradition to treat myself to some cozy items from there. Doni is wearing his pajamas that match his cousins this year (another tradition, the cousins always have matching Christmas pjs). You really cannot go wrong as far as quality or cuteness goes with Hanna Andersson pjs.
For decorating, I opted to keep it simple this year. I made these fresh eucalyptus scripted letters that spelled out ‘joy’ for our annual room decoration. There were a few extra sprigs of eucalyptus so I mixed them with cuttings from our Christmas tree in vases on the nightstands. Lots of faux fur adds to the winter feel.
And I’m pretty sure this pic sums up what actual Christmas mornings with kids look like! Our outtakes for this were hilarious. I really don’t know how people get their kids to take pictures. We managed to get one picture with a smile and there was bribery involved!

I love the way you’ve styled your bedroom so simply this year. It looks so cozy and inviting, and I love that it’s gender neutral. I tend to favor feminine details, but this is really just classic and beautiful. So well done!

I love your tradition and your decor is sublime. I love the simple yet elegant look. So beautiful. We’ve started something similar as a family and we took our family pictures this weekend. I wanted us to all be wearing matching pajamas but that didn’t work out and my 4 yr old and husband were maniacs. The pictures still turned out pretty special though bc a surprise snow came so we took them outside. Sometimes the candid ones are the best bc they truly capture your family life. 😊
