It’s peach season and I have, probably, the best way to use all those delicious juicy fruits you might have picked up at the farmers market. * A peach lavender wine slushie *… peaches, lavender and a fruity white wine are all here to bring your wine drinking game up a notch. This peach lavender wine slushie is so perfect for a summer girls night or a brunch.
So, the recipe for this is very simple. Fresh peaches that you slice and freeze, lavender flowers (you’ll make this into a simple syrup), and wine, blend together… enjoy. If you’ve never made lavender simple syrup before, it’s going to be your new favorite thing, I promise. You can buy culinary lavender at the grocery store (or right here), or pick it fresh if you are lucky enough to have it. Also, your house smells amazing after you make this and you’ll have enough to experiment with on other food/drink endeavors.
Now, if you don’t have fresh peaches, frozen work just as well. I sliced mine then froze them overnight. You could also blanch, peel then slice and freeze the peaches if you’d like, but I didn’t feel this step was necessary- or maybe I’m just lazy and felt that making lavender simple syrup was a commendable enough effort for this cocktail. Either way, the drink was great with unblanched and unpeeled peaches.
Cheers! If you’re in the mood for some more lavender recipes, check out my recipe for lavender lemonade. xx
