This peony wreath is just in time for spring, and sure to stand out with its cascading magnolia and pussy willow branches (I’ve been using these everywhere lately). I love the shape of the wreath this way because it gives more of an organic and natural look even when using faux flowers. I’ve included instructions and photos below on how to make this peony wreath!
I didn’t have a spring wreath and came across this one that is so gorgeous but with a price tag to boot. So, I decided to make my own version inspired by that one. I had this grapevine wreath sitting in my storage closet for so long and these flowers weren’t being used for anything in particular, safe to say I’m so happy with how this came out!
What You’ll Need: grapevine wreath, peony flowers (faux), magnolia flowers (faux, I found these at TJMaxx), pussy willow branches (I used real, faux would work too), a good pair of scissors, floral tape, floral wire, ribbon (not pictured)
I cut some of the leaves off the peony stems and bundled them with the small branches to have more control over where the leaves were placed on the wreath. Arrange the peonies at the top of the wreath then attach your leaf bundles (I made 4 of these). I attached one to the top, bottom and one to each side of the peonies to frame the flowers.
Separate the size of your pussy willow branches into large and medium, then bundle the medium ones together. I had two of the medium sized branch bundles and secured these to the wreath right below each side of the peony flowers. Then, take your larger branches and insert them going down each side. I got lazy at this point and just stuck the branches into the wreath until they felt secure. You can add floral tape and wire although mine didn’t feel like they were going anywhere so I felt comfortable leaving them that way.
Finish by adding the magnolia branches in the same way down each side. When you’re all done tie some ribbon to the back of the wreath to hang it on your front door. Voila! Instant peony goodness to admire all spring long (since our actual peonies only bloom for 1-2 weeks).
I love the soft pink hue and the fullness of the peony flowers alongside the different sizes and texture of the grey/white flowers on the branches. I have some ideas to incorporate these colors into the rest of the front porch, so stay tuned!
If you would like to purchase an already made wreath, these are some that are perfect for spring as well!

I am 100% making this exact wreath. It is perfect, and exactly what I have been looking for. I continue to search for the perfect spring/summer wreath, but haven’t found one that I love and that I think is worth paying over $100 for. This though… its just absolutely perfect! And, who doesn’t LOVE peonies!?

Thank you so much Nicky! I’m a sucker for peonies (especially pink ones) and I haven’t seen a wreath like this in stores. Plus I agree, everything I thought worth buying was $$ so it’s worth it to put one together exactly how you’d want!
