Every year right after Thanksgiving, my little family would make the trek to get a real Christmas tree, but this year was slightly different, with having a baby right around the time we usually do this tradition. It wasn’t looking very possible and I didn’t want to get a tree too early or too late in the year. Plus, I really wasn’t up for taking care of a live tree post c-section with a newborn, particularly not too keen on having to remember to water it and cleaning pine needles! So you can imagine how excited I was when Tree Classics sent over some absolutely gorgeous artificial trees and decor to try out this year. They’ve really made such a difference in our Christmas decorations and to be completely honest, I’m not sure we will go back to a real tree (maybe if we have more space in another house) but definitely not in this house!
My goal was to have a tree in our living room that still looked real, and going with the Majestic Blue Spruce was definitely the right choice! The one pictured here is 7.5 ft tall and we have 9ft ceilings. I’ve already had people ask me if it was real, which made me so happy! My husband and I were talking about what a difference in this tree vs the artificial ones we had grown up with because it was so easy to install, literally just three steps plus a bit of fluffing, and looks so real!
I’m really not sure why, but every year I decorate our living room tree and mantle a little differently than the last. For the Christmas tree I usually mix ornaments that I already have with something new. This year I used gold and copper round ornaments, faux silver dollar eucalyptus, faux anemones flowers (these were originally in a bunch that I cut into individual branches) and acorn ornaments that I’ve had for years. If I had pinecones I would have added some of those in too, or you can use them if you don’t have acorns for something natural. Then for the mantle I used the Woodlands Deluxe Noble Fir Garland that’s also from Tree Classics along with 2 additional eucalyptus garlands draped over that one to carry on the same theme from the tree. I’m loving all the extra greenery and how festive our living room looks!
