This is my first outfit type of post since writing the guide to create a buildable wardrobe. I thought it would make sense if I started showing that practice in action, and this outfit really is a testament to that way of shopping and dressing. It happens to feature some of my favorite neutrals to wear including black, white, camel and blush pink.
I used basic closet items like my skinny black pants and striped top as the base, then went on to add hero/statement items which included the outerwear which adds another layer and a little something extra (the flare and cut of the bottom of this coat are so unique!), and of course a great statement shoe since the outfit itself is so simple. The best part is that all these pieces are totally interchangeable with the rest of my closet!
