I think a lot of people (myself included) have always thought of Valentine’s Day from the perspective of a significant other and dating. It’s not that I don’t anymore, but lately I’ve been noticing how my thoughts on this holiday have changed over time. It’s become a general celebration of love, and that includes for yourself. Why not take some extra time to spend with our friends or indulge in some pampering ‘me’ time? I decided to start with the ‘me’ time by coming up with a rose infused milk bath recipe.
I’ll be sharing this recipe and more this Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at Macy’s in the Ross Park Mall for a Galentine’s Day shopping event! Along with the DIY with me, where you can customize and take home a soothing milk bath, you can get a complimentary tarot card reading and enjoy some sweet treats. I can’t think of a better reason to get together with girlfriends and then go home for some pampering!
At first, the idea of a milk bath really caught my attention visually when seeing it used in some lovely and surreal looking maternity photo sessions. However, once I began reading about all the benefits that come along with it, I started to wonder why I haven’t been indulging before? The ingredients are relatively easy to come by, the whole vibe is major spa worthy and you can tailor the ingredients to what your skin is needing at the moment.
This beauty regimen is going back to the days of Cleopatra, where it’s said that she would have a milk bath once a day. How nice would that be!? You can find the recipe for the rose infused milk bath below!

Recipe to Make a Rose Infused Milk Bath:
1/2 Cup Dry Milk
1/2 Cup Dried Rose Petals (food or beauty grade)
1/4 Cup Oatmeal
1/4 Cup Epsom or Pink Himalayan Salt
1/4 Cup Baking Soda
Combine ingredients then pulse in a blender or processor until you have a fine powder. Add half the mixture to a warm bath. The combination above makes enough for 2 baths.
Note: *These also make for great handmade gifts!*
Find the Rose Infused Milk Bath Ingredients:
Dried Rose Petals (look for organic/untreated, like the ones here or buy local) | Dry Whole Milk Powder (make sure you use whole milk for the benefits, like the one here) | Oats (I especially like this brand) | Baking Soda | Epsom Salt (try this detox one here) or Pink Himalayan Sea Salt (found here)
