Surprise! If you couldn’t tell from the pictures, yes we are expecting our second little babe and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s been a road that has felt like forever to get here, but we are here now and I am so thankful for that. I haven’t been quite as active on here and a little MIA in general, and well at least there was a good reason! Being sick everyday forces you to prioritize all things– with taking care of my little man coming first. And honestly, that was just about all I had the energy to do some days.

Speaking of, Adoni is so excited to be a big brother, he asks me just about everyday if ‘the baby is still in there’ and if ‘the baby can come out now’. Not just yet! My due date is December 5th, but we are most likely going to have a turkey baby (Thanksgiving is about a week before my due date) because I will require a c-section and we are looking at 39 weeks. During my first delivery I learned that I have CPD (cephalopelvic disproportion), something I had never heard of before then- and what a way to find out! After the maximum allotted time to safely deliver we ended up in a c-section with a cone headed baby (no worries as you can see his head has rounded out nicely)… there’s a lot more to that story but lets just say I’m happy we know this time around and can let modern medicine help us out.

Trying to explain what a relief this pregnancy means to me is hard to do, we’ve had our own share of hurdles over the last few years and I still get so nervous and anxious about letting myself be excited. This is my 4th pregnancy overall and I’m just so ready to expand our family. There was a time when I started to think that Adoni would be an only child which would make me so sad because I always knew what a great big brother he’d be. BUT we are here now and I’ve decided to put the worry on the back burner and enjoy. 

I decided pretty last minute that I felt ready to announce the pregnancy but couldn’t decide what to do. Since we hadn’t taken any family photos in a while this was as good a reason as any. I’m 17 weeks here and wore a ruched body-con tank dress (non-maternity) and went up one size (dress here). I’ll tell you one thing, they aren’t kidding about showing earlier with more pregnancies. We shot these in the morning, but if we had shot later in the day trust me this bump would have been way bigger! We went with neutrals and mostly gray colors to avoid looking like a gender announcement, and shot on a rooftop in Pittsburgh.
