I won’t act like it’s been anything but absolutely freezing here lately. The winds biting, and being outside for even the shortest time makes we want to run inside to sip a hot drink. This weekend was bitterly cold and wearing dresses in winter conditions is a challenge. However, I had a pretty good layering system here that kept me warm.
First, opt for black leggings (actual pants, not stockings) and wear warm socks. Second, start with a camisole then add a classic white button up. Having a dress over top that is a relatively thick material like the one I wore here surely helps out. Opt for a classic coat that has a large collar for even more wind resistance. Finish with a large scarf that can double as a hood when things get really blistery.
The cut of this dress (fit and flare) is so flattering and one of my favorites for my body shape. I can’t wait for it to warm up in the next few months so I can wear it on its own. Leota makes dresses that are really ideal for work, after dinner drinks, church and daytime social events. And they even have this very helpful dress guide that assists you in choosing the right cut of garment for your body type.
Plum Dress (c/o Leota) | Burgundy Scarf (c/o Leota) | Double Breasted Peacoat | White Button Up | Snow White Necklace (c/o Happiness Boutique) | Black Tights | Black Leather Bag | Boots, old (similar here)
