Check Your Neighborhood

Take a ride around your neighborhood or an area of town you really like and make note of the plants that you like. If there is something that really catches your eye, snap a photo for reference. This will also give you a good idea of what grows well in your area.

Bloom Times

A well planned garden considers all 4 seasons when choosing plants. Consider spring and summer blooming, fall interest and winter interest to keep your garden looking great all year round.

Start with the Foundation

Choose your larger plants first, such as trees and shrubs. Determine where these will go, then move on to flowering perennials and grasses to fill in existing areas.

Once you have all your selections, make a collage of everything to save for reference.
